The Ultimate Girls Getaway, a place where hundreds of happy women gather in pajamas and little black dresses, has sponsored eleven women survivors of war to date. Women in countries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kosovo, Rwanda, Sudan and Afghanistan were provided medical aid, shelter, food and counseling for an entire year.

Nadja Piatka, founder and President of Nadja Foods and world famous for her home made cookies and other organic goodies, is also the founder of the Ultimate Girls Getaway which was inspired by her mother, Ksenia Piatka, a woman survivor of war over 60 years ago. Ksenia lost her first born daughter while alone en-route to a displacement camp in Germany. Nadja feels that if we can help stabilize women, we can stabilize their communities and their countries. Stronger women mean stronger nations.

Each Ultimate Girls Getaway event sponsors new Sisters in war torn countries and provides the tools women need to support their families, embrace their rights and actively participate in the rebuilding of their communities.

The Ultimate Girls Getaway, in partnership with luxurious Fairmont Resorts, pays homage to the unique times that strengthen the bonds of female friendship. Hundreds of women take part in these special events that entertain and inspire. They come alone, in pairs, with mothers, daughters, girlfriends or groups to celebrate themselves at events designed just for them. It’s a chance to nurture themselves, chill out and have fun at the memorable women’s getaways at Fairmont Resorts while “giving back” to help others.
